Our school is a place where students, faculty, staff and parents work together to provide students with experiences and education that will make them masterful decision makers and problem solvers. In addition, we will use our knowledge to work with other people to make a better world where children will be future leaders. PS 298's culture is one of high expectations and strong support structures and is centered on collaboration among all members of the school community, including parents and community partners. In this way, PS 298 ensures all of its students are provided a supportive and caring environment that fosters high levels of student achievement.
P.S. 298 is excited to have been selected as a Community School. As a Community School, P.S. 298 is undergoing sensational renewal. We have a new service provider – Partnership with Children – that will help us increase and expand the educational opportunities for our students and families.

Building New Habits of Mind
Through professional development opportunities, we have set a framework of expectations that focus on putting student interests first.
At PS 298 we implement a researched-based curriculum through the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project. Teachers in grades K-5 receive extensive training through TC staff developers, as well as model teachers in our school to support the consistent pedagogical practices.
